About us

sharken.gifWe’re Ken Hebenstreit and spouse Sharlan (Shar) Douglas. We’ve been in business since 1997, selling first editions of 20th century literature and fiction, with sub-specialties in mystery, suspense and a dab of fantasy/sci fi.

We’re based in Royal Oak, Michigan, just north of Detroit. It’s an older city with great restaurants, antique shops and entertainment. We don’t have a store, but most of our stock is out on shelves in the basement, and you may visit and shop by appointment. We usually participate in the Ann Arbor, Lansing, and St. Petersburg book fairs. Visit our website for more information: http://www.khbooks.com
